What: From Awareness to Action: A workshop for pension trustees on advancing reconciliation

Details: Do you want your pension fund to take steps to advance reconciliation? Are you looking for strategies to embed reconciliation and Indigenous rights into your fund’s investment policies and practices? Do you have experiences with this work to share?

Investors can be major catalysts for the advancement of reconciliation in capital markets. Drawing from real-world examples of allied investor action and Advancing Reconciliation in Canada: A Guide for Investors (2020), this workshop for union-nominated pension trustees will explore tangible opportunities and case studies for pension funds to meaningfully contribute to reconciliation. It will highlight strategies to support the growth of the Indigenous economy and ensure respect for Indigenous rights. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn from like-minded peers in a structured discussion on how to push reconciliation objectives forward at their pension fund.

This 75-minute workshop is open to all union-nominated asset owner board members in Canada and to a limited number of trade union representations and international allies. Hosted by the Canadian Capital Stewardship Network (CCSN) in collaboration with the Reconciliation and Responsible Investment Initiative (RRII), join us as we move from talk to action on reconciliation together.
